J.S. Bach Partita No. 3 in E Major for solo violin, BWV 1006 | Gavotte en Rondeau

Hi Friend! 안녕 친구!

Here’s me “fiddling” around, messing with ornamentation and mini-improvisations in the Gavotte en Rondeau from J.S. Bach’s  Partita No. 3 in E Major for solo violin, BWV 1006. It’s taken me a while to get comfortable with making up my own ornaments and free-styling a bit in classical music. And you know what? Solo Bach is a GREAT place to start experimenting with your own ideas — so next time you’re playing some Bach, notice where there are repeated phrases and sequences and see if you can make each one a little bit different, each time. You can even try imitating the ones I do here, if that’s helpful. It’s way more fun than playing everything exactly the same way all the time and you can flex your own creative muscles in small, defined ways 🙂

If you feel like it, comment below and let me know how this is goes for you—and have fun!
